home

location: espresso news
listening to: njosnavelin, sigur ros
drinking: chai

i got off work at 7 last night and drove straight to boone. i went to my wonderful friend's birthday party where i popped out of a box and surprised her. reunited with my best friend amanda and got treats. i stayed with the birthday girl, slept in and had a sweet morning. now i'm at espresso in my favorite window seat. i remember sitting at this same table 4 years ago after my friends gave me the best gift i've ever recieved: a xylophone. what a treat.

i lived in boone for two years. i don't care if i never live here again, or if all my friends here move away, or if espresso news closes down (god forbid). this place will always be home to me. i escaped from the turmoil and abuse and negativity of my hometown and started clean. a new chapter with jesus that, even though it's over now, i'll carry with me forever.

keep going

hi kitty cats.

in general, life is brutal, but it is still sweet. i feel like i just got settled here in greensboro, and now i have to start the moving process all over again. despite the mess, i got a good taste of autumn on sunday, full of treats and going to the park with my best friend. it was the sweetest. i am well.

this is a season of learning to trust. trusting that my life is worth more than 7.50 an hour, 40 hours a week. trust that i will not be sick forever. trust that the desires of my heart will come to fruition when it's time. i will embrace this season with my whole heart until it's time to keep moving. it's what we do best together.

i'm going to have a treat.
happy tuesday!

joy came roaring in.

tonight, i dined with the finest of friends at a little dinner table in the woods, surrounded by books, pictures, and all things pretty. i had butternut squash soup and cupcakes. i laughed till my tummy hurt. my fingers and toes became numb from the cold for the first time this season. so much joy soaring wildly through and around every one of us.

sometimes jesus just likes to give us gifts. he knows me well.

meow.

i would like to introduce you to fatcat. his favorite hobbies are eating, meowing for food outside my door late at night, having thyroid problems, and taking up space!

moving on.

my day off yesterday was so dreamy. pancake and coffee breakfast, incredible church service, post-church pasta, crafts, orange cinnamon rolls and smoothies with the best of friends, and catching up on sleep. i'm a blessed little girl. also, i made an autumn playlist that makes me so happy, i could explode. let me know if you would like me to share that musical treat with you.

three things i like about my job:
1. i get paid to dress up and be nice to people!
2. my co-workers are the sweetest and give me hugs and leave me nice notes.
3. it's a job, and it's mine.

that's all for now kitty cats. it's gonna be a good week.

boots.

hello again.
i'm at work, as usual. i'm a full-time receptionist at a day spa and saturdays are my longest work day (8:45-7:00). ten brutal hours of staring out the window and dealing with crabby rich people. my job is a total dream on most days, don't get me wrong. today i would just much rather be outside doing fun fall things. (ex. carving pumpkins, apple festival, maybe a lil panera date.) oh well. i have a job that i love, which is rare blessing that i am so very thankful for.

things i will do tonight and on my day off tomorrow:
1. free ice cream date with my best friend, who is getting married 3 weeks from today. !!!
2. church and breakfast at a cheap diner (never fails.)
3. sunday afternoon nap.
4. anything else i want to do because i don't have to work! joy to the world!

ok i love you very much. good day.

rejoice.

hi friends. today after a busy morning full of meetings and errands, i came home and made a lil zucchini snack. candy and baked goods are delightful, but sometimes vegetables are the best treats of all. (no, i don't know why there's a sock on my counter.)

it's been a tough week for this little elf, but my friends have come to the rescue and surrounded me with more love than i could ever ask for. tonight when i get off work, i'm going to jordan's little blue house where gluten-free chili, friends, a jonathan taylor thomas movie and lots of love awaits me.

i am very blessed.

for now, i will continue to sit at work and listen to sufjan stevens holiday pandora channel. (i highly recommend you do this when you get the chance. since you're on the internet, that means you probably have the chance right now.) i love you, whoever you are.
